Anthony Dew Jr., passed away unexpectedly on March 2, 2015. Anthony will be missed by many and will forever be remembered as a Martial Arts Master, instructor, counselor, friend and mentor to many. Anthony was born and raised in Philadelphia, and moved to the Williamsport area over 20 years ago. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the former Bethune Douglas Center, 699 Campbell St., Williamsport, PA 17701. Portrait of Mark Canty Jr.

Mark Canty Jr. was a former senior engineer at the United Army Meteorology and Calibration Center Frankford Arsenal. He died on Monday, March 9, 2015. He was 92. He was born on May 20, 1922 to the late Mark and Alice Canty in Sumter, S.C. He was one of six children. Canty graduated from high school in Sumter, S.C. He met his wife, Dorothy W. Brown Canty when she was a student at Morris College in Sumter. They married and eventually moved to Philadelphia. Nicole Giovianetti and Samuel “Sam” Laurencin (Spring 2002) were wed in a classic ceremony in the Crsytal Tea Room in the historic John Wanamaker building in Philadephia, Pennsylvania on July 4, 2014. This was a fitting bookend to their intercontinental engagement secretly planned by Sam to take place in “Villa Borghese, a gorgeous park in Rome”. The pictures of the wedding party which included Best Man Rashid Beyah (Spring 2002) and brothers from Delta Eta and Beta Nu almost “broke the internet”.
